A Whole Day to Create, Connect and Unwind with Clay
Service Description
Immerse yourself in a full day of creativity with our DAY OF CLAY experience. Perfect for beginners and anyone curious about ceramics, this full day workshop combines the best of both worlds - hand-building and a pottery wheel taster - giving you the opportunity to explore a variety of clay techniques in one inspiring day. During the morning, you'll discover the art of hand-building, learning techniques such as pinching, coiling and slab building to create your own unique pieces. We will break at lunchtime for a beautiful afternoon tea. In the afternoon you will be working on your own design ideas , using the techniques taught earlier in the day. Throughout the day - two at time - you'll will experience the magic of the pottery wheel. With step by step guidance from our tutor, you'll learn the basics of wedging, centering clay and throwing on the wheel, with plenty of encouragement as you create your own cylinder or bowl. No experience is needed, the day is open to beginners and experienced potters alike. All material, tools, tuition and refreshments are included. At the end of the day, you'll choose three of your favourite pieces to be dried, kilned and glazed (option extra charge for all pieces created) Your finished ceramics will be ready to collect a few weeks later. Whether you're looking for a mindful creative escape, team building, or just want to try something new, this relaxed and friendly workshop is the perfect way to spend a day, making, learning and creating with clay.
